We're new, we're fun and we're kids! What do you get when you put together 3 beautiful smiles and lots of musical talent playing 8 different instruments?

THE ALLEGHENY STRING BAND!

Mary, 16, plays Fiddle,Mandolin, Keyboard, Tin Whistle, Bohdran and Dulcimer. Joseph, 14, plays Fiddle, Tin Whistle, Jews Harp and Banjo. Beth, 13, plays Guitar, Keyboard and Fiddle. We are the youngest of six children. Our dad plays the Upright Bass for us and our mom plays a part in our band, too.

We love our life on the farm. When we are not slopping the pigs, milking the cows or goats, feeding the chickens or tending our big gardens, we are playing music.

We have 3 years experience performing at nursing homes, fund raisers, senior center's, farmer's markets, festivals, county fairs and other community events. We offer a show with variety that incorporates many styles of music including Country music, Irish music, Traditional Bluegrass, Waltzes, Reels and Gospel. Allegheny String Band received award for Best Overall Performance in the Pleasantville Community Festival. Hey, that's FIRST place, folks!!!

RUNNER-UP for "2008 Battle of the Bands," Cranberry Festival, Seneca, Pa

Competing against Heavy Metal Bands and being the only Bluegrass band in the competition, we still got runner up!

In 2009 we were chosen to showcase at the Hershey Lodge, Hershey, Pa for the Pa State Fair Convention.

We thank all of our devoted fans and friends and family, but most of all, we thank our good and gracious God for our success. St. Cecelia, pray for us...
